Wow. Thanks for keeping us informed on what you are doing with your
computer. All you post is one line? What do you expect here? Are you
installing on a PC, a MAC, a radio shack computer? Are you using Windows,
Ubuntu, Linux, Mac OS? A little HINT would be nice.

Bill,

Considering how this is a WINDOWS forum and more specifically a VISTA
discussion group you should be asking yourself, "Why am I asking all these
dumb questions?" Needless to say the guy is obviously experiencing his
problem on a Vista OS.
----------------

I also am experienceing similar problems. I had about 5 updates and
installed them one at a time and ended up with the KB935807 Update as the
culprit. I still have no idea what the problem is and some help from a more
competent individual would be much appreciated.

Yes, you're right, but he gives no other explanation. If he is having
problems he should at least give us more information.
I knew that he is probably using Vista but he has been preaching about
Windows 2008 Server Beta and maybe he was complaining about that. Why would
he talk about the server product here in the Vista forum? Because he is
Kevin.

You may be right that his personality flaw may be "Kevin" but I felt that he
had provided enough info. for me to say that he's experiencing a similar
problem and if in fact you had also experienced that same problem as Kevin
and I then you may have written a different post.

Anyone have any solutions yet? I tried a direct download of the update and
manually installing it but yet to no avail. Windows Update still insists on
installing it over and over again.

I will try next to boot to Safe Mode and then try to update with the same
manual installer. I'll post if it works, no post if it does not work.

Another genius - Just FYI

Another genius playing with his computer again. Why don't you just play
with the Playskool toys your Mama bought you? That way you won't mess
anything up, Just FYI.

Maybe Mommy could teach you how to use the keyboard. Every word DOES NOT
have to be capitalized, Just FYI.

Each sentence DOES NOT need a Just FYI after it, Just FYI.

People are smart enough to figure out the the post is for their information,
Just FYI.

Oops, I'm doing it now. Just FYI.

RE: Another genius - Just FYI

Mrs. Happy,
Wow, you really just had to post that didn't you? How long were you staring
at the screen before you figured what you wanted to say exactly?
---------------------------------
All,
Anywho, I think that running the update normally through Windows Update and
then restarting into Safe Mode will do the trick. I did it and so far Windows
Update has not yelled at me again to install the update. Remember though that
when you boot into Safe Mode the first time Windows will say "Configuring
updates...". Windows will not load entirely though, since after "Configuring
updates..." goes away it will restart on its own. What I did was boot into
Safe Mode a second time after Windows restarted itself and allowed Windows to
load completely. Then I restarted and booted Windows normally and everything
seems fine. Give it a try, you got nothing to lose.

Clear out your Temp Internet files and manually download the update
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?pocId=&freetext=KB935807&DisplayLang=en

You can check which updates are installed on your computer by -
Start button || Control Panel || Programs
Under Programs and Features - click View installed updates.

The update may still be cached in the softwaredistribution\download folder
from the
previous attempt at auto updating.
Find it and remove it.
