JBL Quantam 100 mic only works when plugged in mic port on my pc and not in headphone port.

Hello again. I have a JBL Quantum 100 headset that I want to use the mic for, and the problem is that the mic doesn't work. My PC has 2 AUX jacks, a headphone and microphone. When I plug it in the headphone port, I can hear stuff, but I can't talk to the mic. If I plug into the microphone port, the mic works fine but I can't hear anything through my headset. I updated the drivers and stuff, and still no luck. Can someone help? Thanks.
