I've been unrightfully locked out of my own laptop with my PIN unable to my entered right after I updated it.

Exactly what the titles says. Tried out a new mouse I got for my laptop, and then I decided to restart the thing because it said there was an update on the way. When I came to turn it on again it said it didn't let me sign in. "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your pin again" it said, and despite going through with this it still didn't let me sign in. I didn't want to have to try and hack my way through the frankly unfair lockdown, so I came here to report the problem.
