Issues with Backup / OneDrive / Local Account and Microsoft Account

[Windows 10]

I am trying to migrate from one Windows 10 PC, via Backup, to a new Windows 11 machine. the Windows 11 install process asks me to make sure the Win10 machine is backed up. I run the Backup app on Win 10, and it tells me that the account I have signed in with is NOT the same as the one that OneDrive is using, and that I need to sign in with the other one. I have the credential to the onedrive account, but NOT the one I have signed in to the PC with (sounds stupid I know, read on)I tried to convert to a local account instead, but the option to change is not there.
