Is Windows Active Directory Services needed any longer now that we have Azure Active Directory?

My organization is still on Windows Active Directory Services even though all of us have migrated to Microsoft 365. The system is sync'ing between WAD and AAD. But is this necessary? I have nothing stored locally, just runs WAD. Is there any advantage of keeping WAD? I'd like to get rid of my servers and associated licenses. I seems to be able to manage devices via iTune. Our PC prints directly to printers, i.e., does not spool to servers. Is there an easy way to move WAD-joined computers to AAD? I do see them in AAD, but the computers are domain-joined to our WAD server. Does AAD have somethi
