Is there a way to keep windows extended display off when second monitor is powered off/not in use?

To make sure the question is understood, I have my main display for a custom built PC and a graphics tablet with a screen built in as a "second" monitor. I only ever use the graphics tablet for art, 2D animations, photo/video references for 3D animations or using streaming/recording software (sometimes other things too), so I need to make sure that I have the display extended when using it. I already know that I can go into the settings and switch it back and forth, or even unplug the graphics tablet when not in use, but what I'm wondering is if there's a way to have it default to "Extend Di
