Is there a real person at microsoft support?

I recently had a laptop melt-down. I have since replaced it but have forgotten my password. I have tried using the microsoft recovery platform MANY times but I keep being refused for lack of information. I don't remember e-mail addresses that I have sent e-mails to but who does when they are stored on the provider? I don't own a cell phone so my recovery method was my e-mail address which I can't access. Any help would be great.
