Is it possible to boot to your desktop without a need for a login Screen/PIN/password? Or is it necessary these days.

Hi I was curious if it's possible to disable the pin / password login screen and go straight to the desktop without any sign in or touching the screen and that way you are simply met with your desktop background and all of your executable icons etc etc. I remember this being possible in the past and I'm not sure on whether or not it has to do with me having an official Microsoft account setup with a key and it's just a security measure to ensure I am logging into that key and my microsoft properly every time I put the Pin with that key to verify the login everytime for safety reasons.
