So, back in January, Microsoft released an update that completely crippled my Windows 10 desktop. Nothing would work properly. I keep it completely up-to-date and always have Defender active because I use it for both home and business use, but after the update Defender would no longer load. This set off alarm bells for me so I scanned the machine with Malwarebytes with all the scanning options set and found no problem.
