Internet connected but unable to be used by any applications unless using a VPN

Since Yesterday morning, my computer has been unable to access the internet, apart from Google Chrome. Everything connects however, when I use a VPN. This is not occuring on any other computer on my WiFi network. I have been troubleshooting since this issue arose, following these troubleshooting guides:Microsoft Community
