Installed epson xp-900 driver not available to be used in Windows 11

I want to use the Epson printer driver for my XP-900 printer, as the Microsoft IPP Class driver does not seem to print double-sided with long-edge flipping (even though I set it for this). However, I download and install the Epson driver, yet it does not seem to be available to be used (having looked at the drivers in Device Manager. This is really frustrating as printing double-sided is always flipped on the short-side, no matters what I set in the printer settings. I have a Surface 13.8" laptop. Any advice?
