As the title says, I'm getting the inaccessible boot device B.S.O.D. at boot, I know what's causing the issue, it's pending windows updates that errored out.
I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise Edition.
I can access winPE but that's it.
It won't boot into safe mode (or any variation of safe mode I.E. with networking, etc...)
I've already tried these methods of fixing it:
System restore didn't work.
SFC /SCANNOW didn't work.
DISM.exe /image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth didn't work.
DISM.exe /image:c:\ /remove-package /[package name] of all pending install packages didn't work, it just errors out.
Updating to latest BIOS version, that didn't work.
As a last resort I tried renaming/deleting the pending.xml file in the WinSxS folder, that didn't work.
I've even tried editing some of the basic update-pending registry entries to help, that didn't work. (I honestly probably missed some of them, if there is a list of all of the entries and corresponding values I would love to give it a better attempt.)
Boot Device is a W.D. 1TB NVME SSD. I also have a 6TB HDD for files, data, and projects that I have disconnected from SATA currently as it was recommended to disconnect all other drives in part of the troubleshooting I saw somewhere. (also didn't help.)
And before the copy+paste response of "just do a reset." No; I'm not going to reset my entire boot drive for the third time this month for the exact same issue, especially considering it takes about half a day every time to get everything I need set back up properly. I'm sorry I'm a bit frustrated I'm just at my wits end with this and since pretty much my entire industry (VFX) has been moved to work-from-home, I now can't accept any work on my workstation because of device-bricking mandatory updates. A full reset is an absolute last resort kind of option for me, so please, if there is absolutely ANYTHING else I can do, I am happy to try.
