BTW, to have & use the (FE) Applications window which, can be treated like any FE window, see below 
... select the View, et al, that you prefer, only minimise it (never close it) and pin it to all your desktops. Full single view of all applications with nothing inside any folders 
It will become Applications on your FE Jumplist 
Open FE, type in shell:appsfolder and hit EnterAn example:Cheers,Drew
