If I unlink my laptop from OneDrive, should I also unlink my iPhone and iPad from OneDrive?

OneDrive has been erratic, and has failed to save an entire afternoon's writing on an important project. It was a very bad day! I have unlinked OneDrive from my laptop. Should I also unlink OneDrive from my iPhone and iPad? Will I still be able to use MSWord to edit files using the phone and iPad?
