If I delete all my files from the one drive will it delete it off my Computer?

I had the files on my computer first and have never used one drive until this week for a college assignment. It suddenly started backing up my files without my permission and is at full capacity so I can't do my work. If I delete the files through my one drive, will it take it from my computer even though it was on my computer first? If yes, how do I stop this backup it's really annoying me because I never wanted this in the first place!
