Over the last couple of weeks Internet Explorer 11 stops working and shows a pop-up warning saying it has stopped working. It also gets very, very slow. Norton Security also warns me that Internet Explorer is using way too much cpu, and one of my Core 2 Duo cores is at 100 percent. IE 11 makes the mouse pointer stop, or randomly skip around the screen.
I do not use registry cleaners, period.
I have scanned with Norton Security and Power Eraser, MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware, ADWcleaner and Windows Defender.
None of these have found anything but a tracking cookie or two. I found a "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" on Windows update. I do not see any improvement. Most Microsoft add-ons are disabled. Oddly enough, streaming movies or tv series on Netflix seems to work fine.
Due to economics, my internet speed is 6mbps, and it was doing fine. I believe this is something separate.
I am scratching my head here. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a Fix-it?
