ICONS not saving

[Windows 11]

Hello All. I just downloaded some .ico icons so I could use them on my folders but when I go to use them, they will change as I am "customize" the icon, but after I exit this part, the new icon disappears. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Thank you heapsDarrenEDIT - The icon appears when I view it in FILE EXPLORER however it does not appear on the desk topEDIT EDIT - I tried re booting pc and the icons appeared on the desk top. I will leave this post up in case it helps someone else.
