I want to get my files from a "failed to auto repair" laptop, but i have no admistrator account signed in and i am not able to. Are there any ways to

The pc is pretty old but still boots up, when booting up it tries auto repair and fails. When using advanced options to repair it asks for administrator account which it says it doesnt have (even though it had since my step-dad's account was on there but not signed in) the troubleshoot says i need to sign in in the sign in screen, but i cant since it cant repair itself.. i dont need the pc to work, i just want the files (game saves and stuff) to transfer over to a new laptop
