This is very disturbing. I never really set up my PC to sync to OneDrive. But somehow, it was. It was annoying, but I didnt do anything about it until I started getting notifications that one drive was no longer syncing and that I would need to pay to increase storage on OneDrive. Instead of falling for this obvious scam from Microsoft, I decided to finally unlink my PC. When I unlinked, it said that files would be deleted from the cloud, but my local files should stay on my local drive. But when I go to File Explorer, my Documents folder is now gone.
