I purchased a new laptop and uninstalled my 2018 Microsoft Office on my old laptop, but new laptop keeps saying it's not uninstalled on another device

I uninstalled the Microsoft office on my old laptop. I entered the keycode for my 2018 Microsoft office on my new laptop. Keep getting message that I need to uninstall from previous device - which I have done.
