i plugged in a second monitor then my original monitor ceased being detected

Computer and monitor were working fine. acer xv320qu. gpu 4080 super. windows 10 bought from computer store. I acquired an ONN roku tv and connected HDMI into the HDMI port on the 4080 super - without changing anything on the original setup. The original monitor lost signal, the second monitor fired up as the "extension" and I had to make it primary display. Win 10 does not detect my original acer monitor anymore. under devices it says i have a generic pnp display and a generic non-pnp display. why did it do this. how do I recover the original monitor and run the dual display
