I need help figuring out how to mirror my TV from my PC

So the problem im experiencing at the moment is i am able to connect my TV to PC via HDMI. The problem is its showing up as extended instead of mirroring. When clicking on the option to duplicate display it shows 1/2 monitor as combined but when i click to accept it does nothing and reverts back to extended. I currently have a 4090 installed could it be a software issue?
