I keep hearing a chime sound in Windows 11, with NO CLUE as to the cause

Today I started hearing a repetitive "chime" sound on Windows 11... with no indication at all as to why the chime was sounding.I never had this problem in Windows 10.After some rather EXTENSIVE tracking (that no end user should have to go through) I discovered it was a new device attached via USB. Removed it, and the chiming stopped.The question here is: why wasn't Windows 11 able to track this down and give me some kind of reason or source information for that constant, nagging, annoying alarm?
