I have a Ativa USB to Ethernet adapter that did work but now when I pulg in it thinks it is a DVD. How do I fix his?

I have a dell with Won10Home. My USB to Ethernet adapter was working but now when I plug it in it thinks it is a DVD. How do I correct this?
