I got an error wer failure logged off and back on and screen turned black . It said something about steam . Now it won’t go to anything at all.

Don’t know the details. Error wer failure . Said steam was gathering information to report to Microsoft. I was only on Facebook playing a game. All of a sudden it stuck and I got off and was watching news on it . Well , now it’s goes totally black screen. It’s all updated windows and all . Is my laptop just out of memory? Should I take it somewhere?
