I get "press a key to skip disk checking" then all my icons turn black.

HI, I bought a 3tb hard drive and after that all my game icons and program icons are black, im not sure if i have a corrupted icon cache but ive followed steps to reset it with no avail. Ive also tried to reinstall new instances of games/ programs. It seems to be only shortcuts that are effected but then again some shortcuts are effected whereas some arent. Im so confused....
