i get extreme fps drops when i adjust my sound

when i am playing the game Elden Ring my fps drops to stupidly low amounts, i mean like 2-6 fps shortly after i turn my sound up or down, now i dont know for sure, but i beleive it has something to do with the pop up that comes when you adjust audio
