I can't use my mobile hotspot from the laptop

I have been using my mobile hotspot from my laptop for months all of a sudden it was unable.to come on I kept saying we can't set up your mobile hotspot anyway I somehow managed to get the mobile hotspot on again however now I am unable to connect my mobile to the hotspot on the laptop it keeps saying connection failed unable to connect to hotspot name. I changed the name password and still no connection.
