I can't play minecraft

I just got a new laptop and had transferred over the contents of my old laptop to my new one. I had to redownload the games i had and when i try to open minecraft it says "Some game files are missing or corrupted" and below it says to sign into the xbox app and go to installed and select the game, but i dont have minecraft installed on the xbox app and i am not paying just to get it. and when i click the old minecraft file it says that i cant run minecraft on this laptop. how am do i fix this so im able to play minecraft on my laptop.
