I can't log in, it says password incorrect. When I click Forgot Password, all I get is A code was sent to Microsoft Authenticator

I have vision problems so I don't know if I misspelled the password when I first set it or if I just dont remember it. I'm too old for all this. When I click FORGOT PASSWORD, I get a message sating A code has been sent to Microsoft Authenticator. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS. But I cant get in without this code I don't know how to access. I want to take the password OFF, I have way too much stuff on my computers to lose it now, My legal files, my book, my whole life, LET ME INI HATE using Microsoft anyway, it's ike a terroristic bot controlling everything.
