I bought a new monitor and since then I've had an issue with my refresh rate/network adapter

When I set my refresh rate to >60hz, my network adapter stops responding. The PC still detects Wifi, but is unable to connect to any network. When I run a diagnosis, the result is that the network adapter is not found. I've tried resetting the IP, running some commands, and searching for driver updates with no luck. I'm currently connecting them using an HDMI cable but I am looking for a display port cable to see if that makes a difference. The monitor supports up to 180hz, and my previous monitor 144hz with no such issue. The new monitor is a ViewSonic VX2479-HD-Pro, and my network adapter
