I bought a external Blu-Ray DVD player and it isn't working. Help please? [Think its a region issue but not sure how to fix]

So far I have;- Updated windows 10 completely including the optionals- Updated all drivers, the DVD player and my USB ports- Tried switching to different USB ports, tried only using one of the USB connections (theres two)- I tried to set the region of the DVD player to Australia but it set it was unable to and I should make sure the media is indeed in that region and that I have administration priviliges (which I do, also plugged it into a friends laptop and it said the exact same thing, and he has administration priviliges as well)I also tried the US and China and they both said the same thin
