I am using Microsoft 7 which was loaded on my PC when purchased, I need to upgrade to newer version

I am not sure how to find the registry? for the Windows 7 and not sure what to do to upgrade, or how to do it.Also not sure which is best to use Windows 10 or 11Thank youJulie
