I was forced to change my password to log in but I keep getting the message "Unable to update the password. The value provided for the new password does not meet the length, complexity or history requirements of the domain." I try new passwords over 8 characters, letters upper and lower case, numbers and characters, all same error message.

Some things you can do.

Check Password Requirements: Ensure that the new password meets all the complexity requirements set by the domain. This usually includes:
    • Minimum length (often at least 8 characters)
    • At least one uppercase letter
    • At least one lowercase letter
    • At least one number
    • At least one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
  1. Avoid Common Passwords: Make sure the password is not similar to previous passwords. Domains often have a history requirement that prevents reuse of recent passwords.
  2. Use a Different Password: If you've tried several combinations and still receive the error, try a completely different password that you haven’t used before.
  3. Check for Caps Lock: Ensure that Caps Lock is not accidentally enabled when entering your password.
  4. Contact IT Support: If you're part of a network (like in a workplace), it might be best to contact your IT department for assistance, as they may have specific policies or tools to help reset your password.
  5. Try Safe Mode: If possible, boot your laptop in Safe Mode and attempt to change the password from there.
  6. Reset Password via Recovery Options: If you have recovery options set up (like security questions or recovery email), try using those to reset your password.
If you need more specific guidance or if there's another aspect of the issue you want to discuss, let me know!
