I accidentally pressed the f7 key while my start menu was open. It is now highlighted and will not let me click on anything in it (I am trying to sign

A pop up that says "Turn on caret browsing" keeps appearing and disappearing when I click out of the start menu. I have caught it and clicked turn on caret browsing as well as turn off, but nothing has fixed it. I have shut off my computer and turned it back on, but the issue is still the same. I just want to unhighlight the start menu and be able to sign out. Any help would be great. Thanks.
