HyperV Query

[Windows Server]

In VMWare I can set up a VM with some apps running, then take a snapshot. When I restore that snapshot, the apps are restored running in the same state as when saved. When I try the same thing in HyperV, the VM is restored, but the running apps are not. Am I missing something?
