How to validate Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP 32 bit?

Hi,I am trying to install Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP 32 bit, but it keeps saying this after I try to validate my copy of Windows: "This copy of Windows is not genuine." I have entered a product key and activated it already, what should I do?
