How to use games for windows _ LIVE for a game installed from steam??

I bought GTA iv from steam but I am unable to save the game . It opens Rockstar Launcher searches for Windows Live for games and is unable to find the Windows live file . If I ignore this and try to proceed It just won't let me save the game. It asked me to check the device storage . I'm tired of this finding solution for this issue. As of now , I know the windows live for games has been discontinued . Is there any hope I can play my game and save progress peacefully OR Did I just waste my money for nothing??
