How to stop Windows 11 from automatically changing brightness, color contrast or activating hdr when launching games?

Whenever I launch any game it stops for a while (probably processing something) and after getting in, the colors and the brightness change to a completely different setting. I wasn't even able to change my brightness as the slider was greyed out. It was only after I quit the game, I can move the slider again. I am not sure if HDR has something to do with this issue...I had none of this issue in any of my old laptops before. Let me know if anymore details are required.
