How to stop Onedrive automatically putting photos & videos into the recycling bin when moving photos & videos on device into the recycling bin.

Trying to clear up space in gallery by syncing with Onedrive, but when I go to move photos and videos on my device to the recycling bin, it pops up saying "moving them to the recycling bin will also remove them from all synced devices and move then to the Recycle Bin in Onedrive." How do I stop this?? I then have to manually restore all images from rhe Onedrive Recycle Bin. Whats the point of syncing to onedrive if you can't actually free up any space on your actual device??
