How to resolve performance issues as a result of Windows 11 24H2?

I have been away from my computer for over a month but it appears my last update prior to leaving was KB5046732 - PC (AMD Ryzen 5 7600) worked perfectly fine at this time. Have been using Windows 11 for years without issue. PC updated yesterday to KB5048667 prior to my hearing about all the issues with 24H2 - I recall there being an error popping up initially with the updating, which others have reported, but it eventually pushed through. Since then, I have encountered significant performance issues - no game will open (will just blackscreen), closing a game will have it continue in the backg
