How to reset password (but much more complicated)

Hello, so I’m digging out in my garage when I found my old windows 10 PC, and I can’t figure out the login. I saw that it was linked to my Microsoft account but when I type in my password it doesn’t work. It says the device is offline but it’s connected in Ethernet, even show up in the internet thing. And when I try to reset it directly on the computer, it loads, asks me how I wanna verify that it’s actually me and then it just throws me to the login screen. I tried this again, even on my phone but no success. I don’t know what to do and if I should reinstall windows. This PC holds a lot of me
