How to reset external C Drive

There is something wrong with my old computer so I need to send back to shop to repair. I took the SSD from it and want to reset it (only clean up for user data and software). I can connect it with one of my other computers, but it seems that normal way resting PC cannot rest external C drive.How can I achieve that? Now I have a healthy computer with an external SSD connected.
