How to remove this picture link off my background display screen?

I tried to printscreen a picture and put it on a word document. I assumed it would be the same as the macbook function so i dragged the picture link thing onto my background display however it will not move or delete. it has gotten to the point that if i go on a random website the image will still be there. what do i do?
