how to prevent desktop background from changing by itself

I set my desktop background to an image because that image is what I want my desktop background to be. I have not changed it since I built this computer nor would I ever. However, when booting my system and logging in this morning, the desktop background had changed itself to some AI-generated vacation ad BS.How do I prevent M*crosoft from unilaterally changing my system settings without warning or consent?
