How to move the entire task bar to the left of the screen

[Windows 11]

Previous versions of Windows allowed users to move the Task Bar (not just the Start Button) to the left side of the screen. Why is this now no longer an option? Also, custom toolbars are no longer an option. I thought Windows 10 with Office was the most hostile user interface, but it feels like Microsoft took that as a challenge.
