How to move my desktop and downloads folder to drive D as these are 2 of my most storage consuming things on the laptop?

I want to change the location of my desktop folder and downloads folder to drive D, but I am not able to do so. I tried going to the properties and changing it to Data (D:), but it wasn't able to do so, nor am I able to move my folder directly. Please suggest a solution for the same.
