How to make windows 11 recognize a printer as a scanner?

I have a Canon MP240 printer/scanner, when I added it to windows 11, it only recognizes it as a printer, I checked all the software related to the printer and the one meant for scanning is outdated and not compatible with windows 11 as the printer is discontinued. I tried windows scanner app but it needs the printer to be first recognized as a scanner, which is doable in windows 10 since there is a "Manage" button in the printer settings but not in windows 11. Tried windows fax and scan but I couldn't add it neither from "Add optional features" nor microsoft store (I think it's also outdated).
