How to deactivate BitLocker?

Hi to all of you, After an update of windows 11, the BitLocker key was activated automatically. Now, every time I turn on my laptop I have to enter the BitLocker recuperation key. When I go to the security setting to turn off this device encryption, this message appears: your pc will not be protected and the encrypt will take a long time. Should I continue with the process? In addition, If I continue, next time I turn on my laptop, It will it not be requested to enter the BitLocker key? Is there another option to deactivate this BitLocker protection?
