How to convert iphone icloud images on compurer to real photo files?

My question again: I have transferred photos from my iphone to Windows 11 via icloud -- apparently only the thumbnails (reference images) transferred from the iphone to the computer (based on what someone wrote on line) but not the information behind them -- so it is impossible to save them as real photos, and then edit them in LightRoom. ===>>> How do I create real images out of these icloud thumbnails???? A better way to download photos form iphone?
